At a new commercial development in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, Edan Asset Management Ltd appointed Fend to install robust ground gas protection measures beneath concrete slabs. The aim was clear, to ensure a safe working environment by blocking harmful gases from entering the building at source.
Site specific membranes for long term defence
Following a thorough review of the site investigation report, we installed a dual membrane system using JUTA GP5 and JUTA GPSAM, tailored to the ground conditions and commercial setting. A protective geotextile fleece was laid beneath the membrane, and all joints were sealed using heat and pressure welding for maximum durability and gas tightness.
Independently verified for total compliance
Installation was carried out by our NVQ-qualified team, with third-party validation and testing undertaken to verify system integrity. For Edan Asset Management, it means future tenants will move into units with invisible but essential protection, built to industry standards and backed by independent assurance.
